Applied learning
Evidence in context.
A case study is not a success story. It is a record of a question, a decision, the evidence available, what changed, what remains uncertain, and what another institution may reasonably learn.
The initiative publishes cases to make practice more legible — not to promote participating organizations, providers, or funders.
The case-study series is in development.
Cases will appear here after pilot evidence has been checked, the scope of each claim has been agreed, and the participating institution has approved the appropriate level of disclosure.
Momentum's standard is simple: publish what the work teaches, not more about the institution than the learning requires.
No case will be published solely because its outcome is favorable; inconclusive and contradictory findings can be as useful as positive ones when the evidence is clear and the limits are honestly stated.
Future research
Questions the case-study series is designed to examine.
Research questions — not published cases
Source-market concentration and resilience
How does reliance on one international source market change an institution's exposure to shifts in confidence or travel behavior?
Trust, welcome, and future intent
Do changes in perceived welcome or institutional credibility precede changes in consideration, recommendation, or visit intent?
Agenda inclusion and itinerary anchoring
When does a cultural institution become a reason for a trip rather than an activity selected after arrival?
Visitor mix and earned-revenue resilience
How does a change in international visitor mix affect admissions, membership, retail, hospitality, or other earned income?
Throughput as a controllable hedge
Can improvements in planning, ticketing, hours, language access, wayfinding, or onsite conversion protect participation when the wider demand environment weakens?
Place-based contribution
What can be responsibly said about an institution's contribution to hotel stays, local spending, partner visitation, or destination confidence?
